This class will explore the basics of cyanotype printing techniques with fabric and paper to create a series of prints and cotton fabric patches. Participants will capture shadows through cyanotype printing, utilizing seasonally foraged plants of the region as well as everyday objects to print with.

Experiment with natural patterns and mindful making! This class will focus on various cyanotype printing techniques on fabric and paper to create a series of prints and fabric patches. Participants will learn the basics of cyanotype printing on different coated materials, as well as hand stitching and embroidery techniques that can be applied to fabric or paper artwork. 
This workshop is suitable for ages 8+; children under 16 should be accompanied by a registered adult.

In this outdoor nature workshop* along the Goose River, where Andrew Wyeth found inspiration for some of his key works, we will seek inspiration as well. Join teaching artist Katama Murray and ecologist Kit Pfeiffer at Riverbrook Preserve to connect to the current season, place, and this special ecosystem as we make designs using organic objects. We will enjoy a guided walk before creating nature mandalas and painting with plant dyes. Along the way we will forage for materials, and learn the process of creating handmade natural dyes and ink using plant pigments from plants and food waste!

We will enjoy a guided walk focused on winter ecology before creating nature mandalas and designs using organic objects. Along the way we will forage for materials and pause to sketch outdoors, and finish by creating temporary mandalas amongst the landscape.

Discover how light, shadow, and digital tools can come together in this playful cyanotype workshop. Family Friendly | This workshop is open to all ages. Children are welcome to participate with the supervision of an adult—a great opportunity to make and learn together.

In this hands-on workshop, learn the process of creating handmade dye and ink using plant pigments from natural dye baths! Students will learn the basics of natural dyeing with shibori resist methods to dye a cotton bandana, as well as extracting pigments to create a palette of liquid inks.
This class is part of our family-friendly drop-in programs at 365 Gallery. This workshop is suitable for ages 5+; children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
