Experiment with natural patterns and mindful making! This class will focus on various cyanotype printing techniques on fabric and paper to create a series of prints and fabric patches. Dive into the realm of this photographic printmaking process and fiber art methods in this hands-on class as a way to connect to the season and objects around us. Participants will learn the basics of cyanotype printing on different coated materials, as well as hand stitching and embroidery techniques that can be applied to fabric or paper artwork.

Students will capture shadows by utilizing seasonally foraged plants of the region as well as everyday objects that hold memory or visual intrigue to print with. Students will have the opportunity to engage in slow, mindful stitching using various threads and materials as a way to respond to the printed imagery. Emphasis will be given to the importance of creative play, rest, and immersing oneself in the current season. These meditative processes yield unique, one-of-a-kind results, and provide opportunities to let go while collaborating with nature.

This workshop is suitable for ages 8+; children under 16 should be accompanied by a registered adult.
