Dive into the interconnected realm of creating with natural pigments with artist and educator Katama Murray of Teach Peace Prints. The class will run Monday through Wednesday, with a special field trip to the Langlais Art Preserve to forage for plants and eco materials.
During this three-day workshop, participants will learn the alchemical process of botanical eco printing, natural dyeing, and ink making on both fabric and paper, as well as beginner techniques to create a series of handmade books and sew fabric patches.

Join us at Osamequin Farm for a special collaboration this summer with Katama Murray & Nathaniel Sharp! This event will kickoff with a nature walk around the farm property and trails, followed by a hands-on art workshop focused on the cyanotype printing process. Towards the end of the educational outdoor walk led by Nathaniel, participants will learn about mindful foraging practices with Katama, and utilize natural objects from the farm to create cyanotype prints. Explore the creative possibilities within cyanotypes to make one of a kind prints! Learn the basics of capturing shadows through sun printing on both fabric and paper, utilizing different techniques for all levels of experience.

This method of weaving allows the process to become more accessible for makers of all experience levels, while the smaller scale affords further opportunities for creating on the go, wherever you may roam. During this workshop, students will learn the basics of simple tapestry weaving on a mini loom using organic, foraged materials and naturally dyed fibers.

During this hands-on workshop, students will learn the basics of natural dyeing with shibori resist methods and experiment with various foraged dyestuffs to coax colors from nature. Participants will naturally dye fabric samples on paper and fabric, as well as a cotton bandana. All materials will be provided.
