sewing & quilting
I learned to hand sew at a young age from family members and kind people at a nature-based school. Those techniques laid dormant for many years until my early adolescence, when I become curious in slowing down with needle and thread again. Over the years, I began learning by doing, and continue to learn with each stitch and mistake. Hand sewing and embroidery led to machine sewing, which eventually led to quilting and mindful stitching. These processes offer a way to visually and physically merge several other techniques that I utilize with other types of media that are naturally dyed, printed, or exposed.
