Limited edition screen print on white Stonehenge paper with burgundy water-based permanent ink. This print features a female Northern Flicker (Colaptes auratus), which is a medium sized bird in the Woodpecker family. They are one of the few species of Woodpeckers that migrate south for the winter. Although they can climb tall trees, they prefer to search for food on the ground. They produce loud noises on strong objects such as metal as a way to communicate and display territorial defense.
